Gokaldas Exports Targets ₹6,000 Crore Revenue by FY28

Apparel manufacturer Gokaldas Exports aims to reach ₹6,000 crore in annual revenue by FY28, driven by its planned merger with BRFL Textiles and new factory expansion. While the company posted a 21% revenue growth in Q1 FY27, investors remain cautious due to elevated debt levels, integration risks, and high promoter share pledges.

Gokaldas Exports has outlined a strategic goal to reach ₹6,000 crore in annual revenue by the end of March 2028. This target marks a significant step-up from its recent performance, with the company reporting a 21% year-on-year revenue increase to ₹1,180 crore in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027.

The growth strategy hinges heavily on the integration of BRFL Textiles. The amalgamation process, which saw shareholder approval through an Extraordinary General Meeting in July 2026, is expected to add scale to the business. Beyond the merger, the company is actively expanding its manufacturing footprint with new greenfield facilities in Jharkhand and Karnataka. Management anticipates these new production sites will start contributing to revenue in the second half of fiscal year 2028.

Operationally, the company is navigating a complex global trade environment. Management has pointed to improved competitive conditions following the removal of certain US tariffs and expects the recent India-UK trade pact to open new avenues for business. Despite a slight softening in month-on-month retail demand in Western markets, the company reported that its order books remain filled through the third quarter of the 2026 calendar year, providing a level of stability against immediate market fluctuations.

Investors, however, are paying close attention to the company’s financial health and governance metrics. While the company has shared plans to reduce its peak debt levels to under ₹300 crore by FY29, current elevated borrowing remains a monitorable factor. Additionally, the company faces scrutiny regarding its high promoter share pledging, which stands at 96.3%. For shareholders, this high level of pledge serves as a governance-related risk point that often attracts investor caution.

Profitability remains another area of focus. While the company reported a net profit of ₹44.3 crore for the first quarter of FY27—a 7% increase year-on-year—rising cotton prices and raw material inflation continue to impact margins. The stock has experienced volatility recently, closing at ₹774.90 on August 27, 2026, which is below its 52-week high of ₹955. Moving forward, shareholders will likely track the successful completion of the BRFL Textiles merger, the actual pace of debt reduction, and the company's ability to maintain margins amidst fluctuating global demand.
