Vodafone Idea Shares Hit 25-Month High Amid Rebranding and SRK Campaign

Vodafone Idea shares reached a 25-month high of ₹15.48 on Monday, driven by a new brand identity campaign featuring Shah Rukh Khan. The stock's rise reflects investor optimism over the company's recent subscriber gains and its aggressive network expansion plans, though significant debt obligations and fierce competition remain key factors to watch.

Vodafone Idea shares climbed to a 25-month high, trading at approximately ₹15.48 on Monday, as investors reacted to the telecom company's major rebranding initiative. The company has launched a new campaign under the banner "Vi badal raha hai… tayaar rahiye" (Vi is changing… get ready), featuring Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan as the new brand ambassador. This shift aims to reposition the firm not just as a telecom operator, but as an integrated technology solutions provider.

This stock movement follows a period of stabilization for the company. After years of losing customers, Vodafone Idea reported a net subscriber gain in July 2026, marking its highest monthly increase in two years. This positive data point has provided relief to investors, suggesting that the company’s efforts to improve its 4G services and reduce churn in key markets are starting to show early results.

To compete effectively with larger players like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, the company has outlined a substantial ₹45,000 crore capital expenditure plan to be executed over the next three years. This investment is primarily targeted at strengthening 4G network coverage and accelerating 5G infrastructure deployment across its service circles. The success of this strategy is critical for the firm's long-term survival, as network quality remains the primary driver for retaining high-value customers in the Indian telecom market.

Despite the current optimism, investors are balancing these growth plans against significant financial risks. Vodafone Idea continues to grapple with a high debt burden and substantial regulatory and spectrum-related dues. While government support and recent measures to ease liquidity have provided some breathing room, the company's reliance on external funding and the long-term impact of potential equity dilution remain concerns for shareholders.

The competitive environment also poses a continuous challenge. As the industry settles into a structure dominated by three major private players, the company must effectively execute its capital spending to avoid losing market share. Success will depend on whether the newly rebranded entity can consistently increase its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) while managing its financial obligations.

Looking ahead, investors may track the progress of the ₹45,000 crore expansion project and the company’s ability to sustain subscriber growth in the coming quarters. Financial updates regarding cash flow and debt repayment schedules will be the most important metrics to watch as the company attempts its turnaround.
