The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has reiterated its call for a consent-based framework enabling telecom operators to share Know Your Customer (KYC) data during Mobile Number Portability (MNP). In response to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), TRAI highlighted that recent legislation, including the Telecommunications Act, 2023, supports user-consented data interchange, aligning with the regulator's 2022 proposal.
