OFC Project Details
Telecom infrastructure firm RailTel Corporation of India announced on Saturday, March 7, that it received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from South East Central Railway. The contract, valued at ₹26,72,60,140, involves comprehensive optical fiber cable (OFC) deployment. This includes supply, transportation, trenching, laying, backfilling, horizontal directional drilling, HDPE pipe insertion, blowing, jointing, and termination. Execution of this extensive project is scheduled to be completed by March 5, 2027.
Expanded Order Book
The order, entirely domestic and free from promoter or related party involvement, significantly strengthens RailTel's order book. This latest award follows closely on the heels of other substantial contracts. Last month, the company secured an order worth approximately ₹35.6 crore for a railway signalling project from the Deputy Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer for the Prayagraj division of North Central Railway. That project involves MSDAC and associated works, with completion slated for February 17, 2028.

On Friday, March 6, shares of Railtel Corporation of India Ltd closed at ₹291.10 on the BSE, reflecting a gain of ₹9.00, or 3.19%.
