Primary Market Momentum Continues

The Indian primary market is set for another busy week with four mainboard Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) scheduled to open for subscription in the second week of December. These companies collectively aim to raise over ₹3,735 crore, signalling strong investor confidence and continued demand for new listings on Dalal Street.

This upbeat trend follows a highly successful first week of December, where three prominent companies—Meesho, Aequs, and Vidya Wires—successfully mobilised ₹6,642 crore through their public issues. The debut of Meesho, Aequs, and Vidya Wires on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) is anticipated on December 10.

Upcoming IPOs Set to Launch

Next week, the IPO calendar features four mainboard issues. Among them, Wakefit Innovations, a Bengaluru-based home and sleep solutions company, stands out as the largest issue. Its IPO, aiming to raise ₹1,288.89 crore, will open on December 8 and close on December 10. The company has set a price band of ₹185–195 per share, targeting a market valuation of approximately ₹6,300 crore. The IPO comprises a fresh issue of shares worth ₹377.18 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) of ₹911.71 crore by promoters and existing investors. Wakefit Innovations recently bolstered its position by raising ₹56 crore in a pre-IPO round from DSP India Fund and 360 ONE Equity Opportunities Fund.

Joining Wakefit in the healthcare sector are three significant IPOs. Corona Remedies will launch its ₹655.37-crore public issue on December 8, closing on December 10. This issue is entirely an Offer for Sale. On December 10, Nephrocare Health Services will open its ₹871.05-crore IPO, aiming to raise funds for expansion and operational growth. Finally, Park Medi World will open its ₹920-crore IPO on December 10, also closing on December 12, with a price band of ₹154–162 per share. Park Medi World is known as the second-largest private hospital chain in North India.

Investor Sentiment and Market Outlook

The continuous stream of substantial IPOs reflects a robust primary market environment. Investors are showing a keen interest in participating in the growth stories of emerging companies across various sectors, particularly in healthcare and consumer-focused businesses. The successful fundraising by these companies is expected to provide them with capital for expansion, innovation, and strengthening their market presence, potentially leading to positive market sentiment.

Impact

  • The influx of new IPOs provides investors with diverse opportunities to invest in growing companies and potentially achieve capital appreciation.
  • Successful IPOs can boost overall market liquidity and investor confidence, potentially influencing broader market trends.
  • Companies going public gain access to significant capital for expansion, research, and development, which can drive innovation and job creation.
  • Impact rating: 8/10
