Hyderabad-based health technology firm ekincare has completed the acquisition of Superclaims, a startup focused on artificial intelligence-powered health insurance claims adjudication. The acquisition arrives as the Indian health insurance sector experiences a significant rise in claim volumes. According to data from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) annual report for FY2024-25, general and health insurers in the country settled 3.26 crore health insurance claims, with a total disbursement of Rs 94,248 crore. This high volume of transactions creates operational pressure on insurers, making automated adjudication tools increasingly relevant for managing large-scale insurance portfolios efficiently.
