Indian hiring startup Vahan.ai is using NVIDIA’s AI technology to speed up its blue-collar recruitment services. The partnership aims to cut operational costs and improve response times for its voice-based platform, which has already managed over 1.5 million job placements.

Vahan.ai, an Indian startup specializing in blue-collar recruitment, has collaborated with NVIDIA to refine its voice-based AI recruitment platform. The initiative, facilitated through NVIDIA’s Inception program, focuses on optimizing the Nemotron 3 Nano AI model to better serve workers in the blue-collar sector, where quick and accurate communication is essential.

Operational and Cost Efficiencies

The core of this collaboration is the shift to a more specialized AI model. Vahan.ai moved from a 120-billion-parameter model to a more streamlined 30-billion-parameter model. By fine-tuning this smaller model with its own proprietary data—including human-corrected recruitment conversations—the company achieved significant technical gains. Vahan.ai reports that the optimized model is nearly 6.7 times faster in providing initial responses and has reduced end-to-end latency by over three times.

For a business operating in the high-volume, thin-margin recruitment industry, these technical improvements translate directly into operational value. The company expects these changes to lower inference costs—the computing power required to run the AI—by 60% to 70%. These savings allow the company to maintain its recruitment operations more affordably while handling the high volume of traffic required for gig-economy job placements.

Scaling and Business Context

Vahan.ai currently operates in more than 920 cities across India and has facilitated over 1.5 million job placements. The company’s business model depends on successfully matching gig workers with employers, a process that requires managing high volumes of voice interactions in multiple languages. The current system operates in English and Hindi, but the company is using these technical gains to expand into regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi.

It is important for market participants to note that Vahan.ai is a private startup and is not listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) or the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Because it is not a publicly traded company, there is no stock price to track. Investors often evaluate companies in this space based on their ability to manage cash burn, secure venture funding, and successfully scale their technology in a competitive gig economy environment.
