Redington Shares Rally 10% on Q2 Revenue Jump to ₹43,002 Cr

Redington Limited reported a 48% revenue increase to ₹43,002 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, driven by strong data center and enterprise demand. While profit after tax rose 50% to ₹581 crore, investors may note a slight contraction in operating profit margins. The stock responded with an over 10% rally.

Redington Limited posted strong financial results for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, with a significant increase in revenue and profit. The company reported a consolidated revenue of ₹43,002 crore, marking a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. Profit after tax, excluding exceptional items, grew by 50% to ₹581 crore.

The strong performance was largely driven by the Technology Solutions Group (TSG), which saw a 91% surge in growth. This unit focuses on high-end enterprise needs, including servers and data storage, catering to the growing corporate demand for digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and cloud services. Regionally, the company saw substantial traction, with revenue from India growing by 67% and the Middle East and Africa regions recording a 41% increase.

Following the announcement on November 4, 2026, the company’s stock saw a positive reaction from the market, rallying between 9% and 11% on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange. This price movement suggests investor optimism regarding the company's ability to capture the current IT infrastructure spending wave.

Monitoring Margin Pressure

Despite the robust growth in sales, investors may note that the company’s operating profit margins experienced a slight contraction, moving from 2.02% to 1.95%. As a distributor of technology products, Redington typically operates on thin margins, meaning even small fluctuations can be significant. The ability to maintain or improve these margins while scaling revenue remains a key area for shareholders to track.

Risks and Future Focus

The company’s business model is closely tied to the global IT supply chain and demand for consumer and enterprise electronics. A primary risk factor is demand elasticity; if prices for IT hardware rise too sharply, it could affect customer buying patterns. Additionally, the company is heavily dependent on specific regions like India and the Middle East, making its financial performance sensitive to the economic conditions and stability of these markets.

Investors may also want to monitor geopolitical developments, as disruptions in global supply chains could impact the availability of products, which is critical for a distribution-heavy business. Looking ahead, the market will likely track whether the company can sustain this high growth rate in its Technology Solutions Group and how effectively it manages its operating costs in a competitive market environment.
