Nvidia has officially launched its GeForce Now cloud gaming service in India, allowing users to stream PC games without needing expensive high-end hardware. The service offers performance-based subscription tiers starting from ₹999 per month, with payment support for UPI and cards.
Nvidia has officially transitioned its GeForce Now cloud gaming platform out of beta, making the service widely available to Indian consumers starting today, July 15, 2026. This move allows users to stream high-quality PC games directly from the cloud, removing the requirement for powerful local gaming rigs. By processing game data on remote servers, the platform aims to make top-tier gaming accessible to users on laptops, mobile devices, and older computers.
Subscription Options and Pricing
Nvidia has introduced two main monthly subscription tiers tailored for different user needs. The Performance plan is priced at ₹999 per month, offering gaming at 1440p resolution and 60 frames per second with six-hour session limits. For more demanding gamers, the Ultimate plan is available for ₹1,999 per month, enabling streaming at up to 5K resolution and 120 frames per second with eight-hour session limits. Those who prefer flexibility can opt for Day Passes, which are priced at ₹399 for the Performance tier and ₹799 for the Ultimate tier.
To facilitate widespread adoption, the company has integrated local payment methods, including UPI, alongside standard credit and debit card options. Existing beta participants are eligible for a 20% discount on the first three months of a subscription if they claim the offer within the next week.
Technical Infrastructure and Features
The service is powered by Nvidia's Blackwell RTX architecture, specifically utilizing GeForce RTX 5080 SuperPODs. These servers are designed to provide significant computing power, rated at up to 62 teraflops, and include a 48GB frame buffer. These technical specifications allow the service to support high-end graphical features, including real-time ray tracing and HDR10 content, which typically require expensive dedicated hardware to run locally.
Gaming Access and Storage Requirements
Unlike traditional gaming consoles, GeForce Now acts as a streaming layer rather than a game marketplace. Users are required to own the games they wish to play by linking their existing accounts from established digital storefronts such as Steam and the Epic Games Store. The platform currently provides support for over 4,500 titles.
Each subscription includes 100GB of cloud storage for installed games, with the option to expand capacity for an additional fee. These add-ons start at ₹299 per month for 200GB, moving up to ₹799 per month for 1TB of extra space.
While the current model focuses on paid subscriptions, the market will likely track whether Nvidia introduces a free, ad-supported tier in the future to compete with other cloud service providers.
