Mumbai-based fintech Mintoak has acquired Dubai’s ICC Loyalty to integrate rewards and customer engagement tools into its banking platform. The deal, funded through internal accruals, combines two profitable businesses now generating over $30 million in annual revenue. This expansion strengthens Mintoak's presence across 20 countries and enhances its services for major banking partners.
Mumbai-based banking software provider Mintoak has acquired Dubai-headquartered ICC Loyalty, a strategic move designed to broaden its product suite in the competitive fintech sector. By integrating ICC Loyalty’s rewards and engagement technology with its existing payment processing platform, Mintoak aims to provide a comprehensive solution for banks, covering both merchant acquiring and card-issuing services.
Scaling Profitable Operations
According to company founder Raman Khanduja, the acquisition was completed using internal accruals, avoiding the need for external debt. The combined entity reports an annual revenue exceeding $30 million, with profit margins maintained above 30 percent. This level of profitability is notable in the fintech space, where many firms prioritize rapid scaling and market share at the cost of immediate bottom-line results.
Strengthening Global Banking Ties
The deal significantly increases Mintoak's international footprint. ICC Loyalty’s established network includes partnerships with over 30 banks across more than 10 countries. Following this integration, Mintoak now services more than 50 banks in over 20 nations. The company’s client list includes major Indian institutions such as HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and SBI Payments, alongside international entities like Emirates Islamic and Absa Bank. The combined platform currently supports over five million merchants and manages more than $93 billion in annual payment volume.
Strategic Shift Toward Data-Driven Services
The acquisition highlights a broader transition in the fintech sector as companies move beyond basic payment processing to capture recurring revenue streams. By combining Mintoak's payment acceptance software with ICC Loyalty’s rewards platform and artificial intelligence capabilities, the company plans to offer hyper-personalized marketing and data-driven insights to its banking partners. This strategy is intended to increase customer retention and deepen the relationship between banks and their end users.
Investors should track the effectiveness of this integration over the coming quarters. The primary monitorables include the speed of product cross-selling across the expanded client base, the ability to maintain the reported 30 percent profit margin, and how successfully the company blends the two distinct technology stacks into a unified offering. Additionally, as Mintoak expands further into international markets in Africa and Eastern Europe, management's ability to navigate varying regulatory landscapes in these regions will remain a point of interest.
