Matrimony.com Profit Doubles to ₹19 Cr, Shares Jump 10%

Matrimony.com reported a 127.5% year-on-year surge in net profit to ₹19.10 crore for the June 2026 quarter, driving its stock price 10.34% higher on Tuesday. While the company's core matchmaking segment saw strong user growth, it also announced the upcoming resignation of its Chief Financial Officer.

Matrimony.com shares witnessed a strong rally on Tuesday, closing 10.34% higher at ₹530.00 on the National Stock Exchange. The surge followed the announcement of the company’s financial results for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, which showed a significant improvement in profitability.

For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, the company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹19.10 crore, more than double the profit recorded in the same period last year. Revenue from operations also saw a healthy increase of 13.2% year-on-year, reaching ₹130.50 crore.

A key driver of this performance was the improved operational efficiency. The company’s operating profit margin rose to 20.1% in the June 2026 quarter, a substantial improvement compared to the 11.0% margin recorded in the same period a year ago. This expansion in margins contributed heavily to the bottom-line growth.

The company’s primary revenue source remains its matchmaking services. During the quarter, this segment added 2.72 lakh new paid subscriptions. Investors often monitor this metric closely, as growth in paid users is central to the company’s revenue model. While the company has attempted to expand into other areas, such as wedding marketplace and venue bookings, matchmaking services continue to account for the vast majority of its total revenue.

Along with the financial results, Matrimony.com announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Harigovind Krishnasamy, will be stepping down from his position, effective August 17, 2026. Leadership changes, particularly at the CFO level, are usually closely monitored by the market for potential impacts on financial governance or strategy.

Investors may want to keep an eye on how the company manages the leadership transition. Furthermore, while the current results are positive, the online matchmaking industry in India remains highly competitive. The company faces ongoing pressure from larger, well-funded platforms and new market entrants. The sustainability of this growth will likely depend on the company's ability to keep customer acquisition costs in check while maintaining its user base against these rivals. The impact of discretionary spending habits on user subscriptions will also remain an important factor to track in the coming quarters.
