LTM Opens Kolkata Tech Campus, Gains Additional 10 Acres

LTM has launched its new 5,800-capacity 'Ananda Niketan' campus in Kolkata. The West Bengal government has allotted 10 additional acres for future expansion, signaling a long-term growth strategy. The company recently reported an 18% year-on-year revenue increase for Q1 FY27.

LTM (formerly LTIMindtree) officially inaugurated its new technology campus, 'Ananda Niketan', in the Bengal Silicon Valley, New Town, Kolkata, on August 27, 2026. The facility was opened by West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, marking a significant step in the company's efforts to expand its presence in Eastern India.

The campus covers approximately 8 lakh square feet across two buildings and is designed to host 5,800 technology professionals. The facility will serve as a hub for key digital services, including artificial intelligence, cloud architecture, and data analytics. By strengthening its footprint in Kolkata, the company aims to tap into the regional talent pool to support its global client base in sectors like finance, energy, and manufacturing.

During the inauguration, the state government announced the allotment of 10 additional acres of land to the firm. This land grant is intended to support the construction of four more office towers in the future, suggesting that the company plans to scale its operations in the region significantly over the coming years.

This infrastructure expansion aligns with the company's recent financial performance. For the first quarter of FY27, LTM reported a revenue of ₹11,608 crore, which is an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. Its net profit for the quarter rose by 17% to ₹1,468.6 crore. While the company continues to invest in scaling its capacity, investors often monitor how such capital spending impacts free cash flow and profit margins, especially in an environment where the broader IT services sector faces pressure from wage inflation and macro-economic uncertainty.

For market participants, it is also relevant to note that the company’s stock is currently subject to Long Term Additional Surveillance Measures (LT-ASM) by the stock exchanges. This is a technical mechanism used by regulators to monitor stocks experiencing unusual volatility or volume trends. While such measures are procedural and independent of the company's operational growth, they are a monitorable for traders and investors regarding potential short-term price fluctuations.

Moving forward, the primary focus for stakeholders will be the construction timeline for the next phase of the campus and whether the company can maintain its margin levels while scaling up its infrastructure. The commissioning of the additional towers will be a key event to track to understand the company's long-term utilization of this new land bank.
