Klaviyo Acquires AI Firm Agency; Reports $370.6M Revenue

Klaviyo has acquired AI startup Agency to boost its marketing automation tools. The acquisition brings Elias Torres on board as Chief Product Officer, as the company reports 26% revenue growth in the second quarter. Investors are now watching how this AI integration affects the company's competitive position and future product development.

US-listed marketing software company Klaviyo (NYSE: KVYO) has announced the acquisition of Agency, an AI-native customer success startup. The deal is set to accelerate the development of Klaviyo’s existing AI-powered tools, specifically 'Composer' and 'Customer Agent,' which help businesses automate marketing campaigns and customer support tasks.

This strategic acquisition is accompanied by the company’s Q2 2026 financial results. Klaviyo reported revenue of $370.6 million for the quarter, reflecting a 26% increase compared to the same period last year. The company maintained a gross margin of 73%, a metric that is often watched closely by software-as-a-service (SaaS) investors as it indicates the profitability of the core platform.

As part of the deal, Elias Torres, the founder of Agency, will join Klaviyo as Chief Product Officer. This appointment marks a professional reunion between Torres and Klaviyo CEO Andrew Bialecki. The two previously worked together at the company Performable, which was acquired by HubSpot in 2011. Torres also brings his 25-person team from Agency to integrate their technology directly into Klaviyo’s offerings.

For investors, the acquisition highlights the company's focus on maintaining its competitive edge in a fast-moving AI landscape. While the financial performance shows steady growth, the software sector continues to face challenges, including intense competition and pressure to prove that AI tools can meaningfully drive long-term revenue.

There are also operational factors that market observers may monitor. Klaviyo is currently navigating a period of executive transition, including an upcoming change in the Chief Financial Officer position. In the tech sector, leadership changes combined with the challenges of integrating new acquisitions can sometimes create uncertainty. Moving forward, the key factor for investors will be how effectively Klaviyo utilizes this new AI team to enhance its platform value and whether it can sustain its current pace of growth amidst broader market volatility.
