Infosys Shares Rise 2% After Q1 Profit Hits ₹7,775 Crore

Infosys shares climbed 2.04% to ₹1,179.20 following the release of its June 2026 quarterly results. The IT major reported a consolidated revenue of ₹48,211 crore and remains debt-free. Investors are weighing the quarterly profit of ₹7,775 crore against the broader performance trends in the domestic IT sector.

Infosys Limited shares gained 2.04% during early trading sessions on July 27, 2026, reaching a price of ₹1,179.20. The movement follows the announcement of the company’s financial results for the quarter ending June 2026, where the IT giant reported a consolidated revenue of ₹48,211 crore. This figure represents an increase compared to the ₹46,402 crore reported in the preceding March 2026 quarter.

While the company showed revenue growth, the net profit for the June 2026 quarter stood at ₹7,775 crore. This is a decline compared to the ₹8,509 crore recorded in the March 2026 quarter. Investors often look at quarterly profit fluctuations in the IT sector to gauge the impact of wage inflation, utilization levels, and the ongoing demand for digital transformation services from global clients.

Annual Performance and Financial Health

On an annual basis, Infosys demonstrated consistent growth across its operations. The company reported a total revenue of ₹178,650 crore for the fiscal year 2026, rising from ₹162,990 crore in the previous fiscal year. Net profit also followed this upward trend, climbing to ₹29,474 crore in FY26 from ₹26,750 crore in FY25. A key point for long-term investors is the company’s balance sheet, which remains debt-free, a characteristic that provides significant financial flexibility in a high-interest-rate environment.

The company’s ability to generate cash remains a central monitorable. For the year ending March 2026, cash flow from operating activities was reported at ₹33,986 crore, slightly lower than the ₹35,694 crore in the prior year. Despite the dip in net cash flow to negative ₹2,254 crore for the year, the company continues to maintain a shareholder-friendly capital allocation policy. This is reflected in the final dividend of ₹25.00 per share announced in April 2026, with an effective date in June 2026.

Sector Context and Investor Focus

The Indian IT sector is currently navigating a period where clients in North America and Europe are cautious about IT spending due to global economic uncertainty. Infosys, like its peers, is being evaluated on its ability to win large deals while managing profit margins. The current Price-to-Earnings (P/E) ratio of 17.47 for March 2026 shows a change in valuation compared to the 24.35 level seen in March 2025.

For investors, the primary area to track in the coming quarters will be the sustainability of revenue growth amid potential global slowdowns and the company’s ability to maintain its profit margins. Management commentary on deal pipelines, client budget allocation, and the impact of artificial intelligence integration on service pricing will remain important factors in determining future performance.
