Info Edge Shares Rise as ICICI Securities Ups Target to ₹1,500

Info Edge (India) Ltd. shares are in focus after ICICI Securities raised its target price to ₹1,500 following a solid Q1 FY27 performance. The company reported a 17.5% jump in recruitment billings and reached an operating profit break-even in its Jeevansathi segment, though analysts remain watchful of competitive and AI-related risks.

Info Edge (India) Ltd. has received a target price upgrade to ₹1,500 from ICICI Securities, reflecting confidence in the company's recent operational milestones. The brokerage maintained a 'Buy' rating as the company reported a strong start to fiscal year 2027, driven by its core recruitment business.

Q1 FY27 Performance Highlights

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company posted consolidated revenue growth of approximately 11% year-on-year. A key highlight was the recruitment division, which saw billings rise by 17.5% compared to the previous year. This segment continues to be the backbone of the company’s earnings. Additionally, the online matrimonial platform, Jeevansathi.com, achieved a significant milestone by reaching operating profit break-even for the first time in Q1 FY27.

On the bottom line, the company reported a consolidated net profit surge between 43% and 51% year-on-year. Investors should note that this profit jump was largely aided by an exceptional gain resulting from the transfer of the company's stake in Shopkirana. Excluding such one-time events, the underlying operational performance remains the focus for long-term growth.

AI Integration and Business Outlook

Management has been actively investing in artificial intelligence tools, including AI REX and Talent Pulse, to enhance its recruitment offerings. These investments aim to strengthen Naukri’s position by improving search efficiency and user experience. While the company is betting on these tools to expand its market reach, analysts are monitoring the execution of this strategy, for which Info Edge has budgeted significant spending in FY27.

For the real estate platform, 99acres.com, the company has projected billing growth of over 20%, citing a stable competitive environment and better sales execution. However, the online real estate and matrimonial sectors remain highly competitive, and the company’s ability to maintain its market share against rivals will be a key factor for future profitability.

Market Reaction and Analyst Views

Following the recent results, Info Edge shares have seen positive momentum, trading in the range of ₹1,300 to ₹1,370 on the National Stock Exchange. While ICICI Securities remains bullish, the market sentiment is not uniform. Other brokerages, such as Motilal Oswal, have expressed a more cautious 'Neutral' view, citing different valuations and potential risks.

Risks to Monitor

Despite the growth in billings, investors may want to track several risks. The recruitment sector is sensitive to global and domestic macroeconomic conditions, which can lead to uneven hiring patterns by companies. Furthermore, there is a long-term risk of AI-driven disruption changing how recruitment works, which could impact the company's traditional business model. The success of the current AI strategy depends on how well these tools are adopted by customers, and any delay or failure in execution could impact margins. The company's future performance will depend on its ability to navigate these competitive pressures while maintaining its leadership in the job portal market.
