Info Edge Founder Bikhchandani Named CEO, Declares Dividend

Info Edge founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani will assume the role of Managing Director and Group CEO on December 3, 2026, succeeding Hitesh Oberoi. Along with this leadership change, the company reported a 12.2% growth in Q2 FY27 revenue and announced an interim dividend of ₹3 per share. Investors are now tracking the management transition and the company’s ongoing strategy in the digital recruitment and investment space.

Info Edge (India) Ltd is entering a new chapter with founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani set to return as the Managing Director and Group CEO. This leadership shift is scheduled to take effect on December 3, 2026. He will take over the reins from Hitesh Oberoi, who is stepping down from his full-time executive responsibilities on December 2, 2026, after serving as CEO for 16 years and dedicating nearly 27 years to the organization.

To ensure operational continuity, Hitesh Oberoi will remain associated with the company in a different capacity. He will transition to the board as a non-executive, non-independent director and will continue to serve as an advisor to the leadership team. This arrangement is intended to preserve the institutional knowledge and operational standards established during his long tenure. The appointment remains subject to final shareholder approval.

The leadership change takes place against a backdrop of steady financial performance. In its Q2 FY27 financial results, Info Edge reported a revenue of ₹903.9 crore, reflecting a 12.2% increase compared to the previous period. The company posted a standalone net profit of ₹334 crore for the quarter. Additionally, the firm announced an interim dividend of ₹3 per share for FY 2026-27, with the record date set for November 6, 2026. As of March 31, 2026, the company maintains a zero-debt position, which offers significant financial flexibility.

While the company has built a stable foundation, investors may note that leadership transitions at this level carry inherent operational risks. The future performance of the firm will depend on how the new management handles its diverse portfolio, which includes the recruitment business under Naukri.com, as well as its real estate and matchmaking platforms. These segments are sensitive to macroeconomic conditions and the evolving nature of the consumer internet market. Furthermore, the company’s extensive investment portfolio in various startups involves market risks and potential valuation volatility.

Moving forward, the primary areas for investors to monitor include the formal shareholder approval process for the new management structure and the company's ability to maintain its growth trajectory in a competitive digital landscape. Consistent execution across its core business lines remains a key factor for the firm's long-term outlook.
