Info Edge Appoints Himanshu Agarwal as CFO; Names New Director

Info Edge (India) Ltd has appointed Himanshu Agarwal as its new CFO and Whole-time Director, effective September 17, 2026. The company also added former Adobe India MD Naresh Chand Gupta as an Independent Director for a five-year term. These leadership changes aim to strengthen financial oversight and corporate governance at the internet services major.

Info Edge (India) Ltd is reshuffling its leadership team with new appointments in its finance and board departments. The company announced that Himanshu Agarwal will take over as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Whole-time Director starting September 17, 2026.

He replaces Ambarish Raghuvanshi, who has been managing the finance role on an interim basis since November 2025. To ensure a smooth handoff, Raghuvanshi will continue with the company as a Finance Advisor and Senior Management Personnel until the end of October 2026.

Governance and Board Changes

Along with the finance transition, the company is bringing back Naresh Chand Gupta to its board. Starting October 1, 2026, Gupta will serve as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a five-year term. Gupta brings extensive experience from his tenure as the Managing Director of Adobe Systems India and has served on the boards of various technology firms. This is a return for Gupta, who previously served as a director at Info Edge until March 2023.

As part of these adjustments, the company has updated its board committees. Himanshu Agarwal will join the Risk Management Committee and the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting Committee. These groups play a vital role in managing operational risks and ensuring the company maintains high governance standards, which are important for a large-scale digital business.

Business Context and Risks

Info Edge, which operates platforms such as Naukri and 99acres, functions in a highly competitive internet services sector. The company faces continuous challenges, including shifts in demand within the recruitment and real estate markets and the ongoing need to manage profit margins amid intense competition. Investors generally monitor leadership stability and financial discipline in such companies, as these factors are essential for maintaining operational efficiency and navigating macro-economic uncertainties that can impact revenue.

These leadership appointments are subject to standard regulatory requirements, including shareholder approval. Shareholders will now look for consistent financial reporting and strategic continuity as the company continues its operations in the competitive digital landscape.
