HCLSoftware Acquires Jaspersoft To Expand AI Analytics Reach

HCLSoftware has finalized its acquisition of analytics platform Jaspersoft to integrate it into its Actian data and AI division. The deal adds 1,000 customers and 90 partners to HCL’s network, aiming to accelerate the rollout of AI-driven business intelligence tools.

HCLSoftware, the software division of HCL Technologies, has completed the acquisition of Jaspersoft, a recognized platform for embedded analytics and reporting. This move is designed to strengthen HCLSoftware’s position in the data and artificial intelligence market by integrating Jaspersoft’s technology into the Actian data management portfolio.

Integration into Actian Division

Under the new structure, Jaspersoft will function as part of the Actian division. The strategy involves embedding Jaspersoft’s reporting and data analytics tools directly into existing Actian offerings. The company plans to accelerate the development roadmap for these tools, with a specific focus on adding agentic AI capabilities—software that can autonomously perform tasks—and improving how data is analyzed across its product suite. This integration is intended to provide clients with more advanced data insights.

Expanding Global Footprint and Client Base

This acquisition provides HCLSoftware with immediate access to a significant global network. The deal brings approximately 1,000 enterprise and mid-market customers into the fold, alongside 90 partners operating across 44 countries. Jaspersoft’s technology currently serves a variety of sectors, including financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing. By absorbing this ecosystem, Actian aims to scale its distribution and service capabilities internationally.

Financial Performance and Market Context

For HCL Technologies, the parent company, this move comes at a time when the business is focusing on product development and data capabilities to drive growth. In its most recent quarterly results for the period ending March 31, 2026, HCL Technologies reported a net profit of ₹4,488 crore. While this represented a sequential increase of 10.1%, it missed market expectations, which had anticipated a figure closer to ₹4,696 crore.

Operational margins have been a key monitorable for investors. The EBIT margin for the March quarter fell to 16.5%, down from 18.6% in the previous quarter. This margin decline was primarily driven by higher costs in the quarter. As HCLSoftware integrates new businesses like Jaspersoft, investors will likely track whether the company can maintain or improve its operating margins while scaling these new assets.

HCL Technologies is scheduled to report its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 on July 13, 2026. This upcoming disclosure is expected to provide further clarity on the company’s capital allocation strategy and the initial impact of recent acquisitions on its overall software division performance. On July 7, shares of HCL Technologies closed at ₹1,170 on the NSE, reflecting a 3.16% increase for the day.
