Fintech platform Groww reported 204.7 million SIPs worth ₹466 billion in FY26. With 21.6 million transacting users, the company now accounts for a significant share of new SIP growth in India, driven largely by younger investors in smaller cities.
Groww has cemented its position as a major intermediary in the Indian retail investment space, according to its inaugural annual report for the fiscal year 2026. The platform recorded 204.7 million systematic investment plans (SIPs) during the year, with the total value of these investments reaching ₹466 billion. As of FY26, the company manages ₹2.96 lakh crore in customer assets and maintains a base of 21.6 million transacting users.
The platform's growth is supported by a high volume of daily trading activity, which reached an average of ₹115 billion in FY26. Data shows that Groww has been a primary driver of retail participation, accounting for nearly half of the annual increase in new SIPs nationwide between FY17 and FY26. Additionally, the platform is credited with bringing 15.8 million first-time investors into the capital markets over the period.
Expanding Reach Beyond Major Metros
A notable shift in the investment landscape is the geographical distribution of Groww's user base. The platform has extended its services to 97% of India's postal codes, with 84% of its active users located outside the country's top six major cities. This reach has helped bring a younger demographic into the markets, with 70% of new users onboarded in FY26 under the age of 35. Furthermore, the company reported increased participation from women, who accounted for a significant portion of its new equity market entrants.
Strategic Focus on Multi-Product Adoption
To improve user retention, Groww is pushing for a multi-product approach rather than relying solely on individual investment avenues. Approximately 68% of the platform's users now interact with a mix of financial offerings, including mutual funds, equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and lending services. This diversification strategy appears to impact long-term engagement, as multi-product users demonstrated a 91% retention rate over a 36-month period, compared to 81% for those using only one product.
Future Outlook and Technology Integration
Looking ahead, the company is prioritizing the expansion of its wealth management and technology infrastructure. This includes the scaling of specialized platforms like 'W' for wealth management and 'MF Prime'. The management team has signaled a strategic shift toward long-term wealth accumulation by incorporating artificial intelligence into personalized investment solutions and diversifying into products such as bonds. Investors may track how these new product lines and AI-driven initiatives impact the platform's operational costs and long-term user acquisition efficiency as competition among fintech platforms intensifies.
