Fixxly Raises $5.5 Million Seed Funding for Construction Tech

Quick commerce startup Fixxly has secured $5.5 million in seed funding from investors including Accel and Fireside Ventures. The company plans to use the capital to launch an AI-driven platform for delivering building materials to construction sites in 30 minutes by September 2026. This move targets the challenges of slow and fragmented supply chains in the Indian construction sector.

Fixxly, a startup focusing on the construction supply chain, has raised $5.5 million in its seed funding round. The investment was led by Accel, Fireside Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company intends to utilize these funds to improve its artificial intelligence systems and prepare for its initial market launch, which is scheduled for September 1, 2026, in Bangalore.

Targeting Construction Site Efficiency

The business model revolves around quick delivery of essential items such as plywood, paint, plumbing parts, and hardware. By setting up a network of local dark stores, Fixxly aims to provide materials to construction sites within 30 minutes. This approach is designed to solve common delays in the Indian building sector, where traditional procurement often relies on next-day or delayed deliveries from local dealers. The use of AI is intended to manage inventory and match real-time demand with the closest available supply, potentially reducing wait times for construction crews.

Leadership and Market Strategy

The company was co-founded by Shezan Bhojani, previously with DesignCafe, and Sachith Varma, who has experience with Zepto and Flipkart. Their strategy involves launching in Bangalore first before looking at expansion to other major Indian urban centers. The involvement of investors with experience in both consumer technology and supply chain logistics suggests a focus on scaling the platform's ability to handle high-frequency, smaller-value orders which are typical in site-based construction work.

Industry Challenges and Execution Risks

While the goal of rapid delivery is intended to improve site productivity, the company faces inherent challenges in this sector. Building materials are often bulky, heavy, or require specialized transport compared to standard quick-commerce goods like groceries or electronics. Managing logistics for items like plywood or large hardware pieces requires a different delivery infrastructure. Additionally, the building material industry in India is characterized by a reliance on long-standing relationships with local distributors and credit-based payment systems. Moving the market toward a prepaid or platform-based quick commerce model may require significant changes in how contractors and site managers traditionally operate. Investors should monitor how the company manages the cost of operating dark stores and the logistical complexity of transporting construction materials compared to the faster-moving consumer goods sector.
