Shares of Empower India rose 5% to hit the upper circuit at ₹1.93 after the company announced its entry into the sustainable data centre and AI server market. The company intends to leverage its existing renewable energy expertise to align with the government's IndiaAI Mission. While recent quarterly financials show growth, the new business remains at an early stage with no confirmed contracts or specific project values disclosed.
Empower India shares hit a 5% upper circuit on Monday, trading at ₹1.93, following the company's announcement of a strategic expansion into the sustainable digital infrastructure sector. The company plans to develop green data servers and data-centre solutions, aiming to address the high computing demands driven by the artificial intelligence boom in India.
The company intends to use the renewable energy capabilities of its subsidiary, Empower Energy Private Limited, to build more efficient cooling and power systems for data centres. This shift is designed to align with the Indian government's ₹10,372 crore IndiaAI Mission, which was introduced in 2024 to boost domestic computing capacity.
Financially, the company reported a revenue of ₹37.38 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, marking a 41% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit for the period stood at ₹1.49 crore. While these figures indicate operational growth, the new artificial intelligence infrastructure segment is currently in its early planning stages.
Investors should note that the company has not yet disclosed specific customer agreements, contract values, or targets for data-centre capacity. As the company transitions into this capital-intensive and technically complex market, the ability to secure actual projects and demonstrate execution capability will be important to track.
Additionally, as a stock trading in the lower price range, the company naturally carries higher volatility and liquidity risks compared to larger entities in the infrastructure sector. The key monitorable for shareholders will be future regulatory filings that provide updates on order wins, capital spending, and the actual contribution of this new green infrastructure business to the company’s bottom line.
