Cybersecurity Startup Horizon3 Raises $250M at $2B Valuation

Cybersecurity firm Horizon3 has secured $250 million in Series E funding, pushing its total valuation to $2 billion. The company provides an AI-based platform for continuous network security testing. This capital will support global expansion into markets like Australia and Singapore as demand for automated defense systems grows.

Cybersecurity firm Horizon3 has completed a $250 million Series E funding round, a milestone that brings the company's valuation to $2 billion. This reflects a significant increase of more than three times its valuation over the last 14 months, highlighting growing investor interest in AI-focused enterprise security solutions.

Scaling Automated Security Infrastructure

Horizon3 has built its business around NodeZero, an AI-powered platform that performs autonomous penetration testing. Unlike traditional security models that rely on periodic, human-led audits of limited network segments, NodeZero is designed to conduct continuous vulnerability scans across an entire infrastructure. The company reports it has successfully executed 310,000 production security tests without causing operational downtime, a key selling point for enterprises that require constant monitoring without disrupting live systems.

Financial performance has been a central driver of this growth. The company reported annual recurring revenue approaching $100 million last year, maintaining a year-over-year growth rate of 120%. By automating the probing process, the company aims to help security teams identify weaknesses faster than attackers can exploit them using increasingly sophisticated AI tools.

Strategic Expansion and R&D Focus

Horizon3 intends to use the fresh capital to broaden its international footprint. The firm has scheduled the opening of a new office in Amsterdam for June 2026 and is targeting further growth in Australia and Singapore. Alongside international scaling, the company plans to continue its heavy investment in research and development, building on a previous $100 million commitment aimed at ensuring its automated systems remain predictable and controllable.

This growth strategy arrives at a time when enterprises are increasingly cautious about the risks associated with rapid AI adoption. Security professionals are facing pressure to secure systems that are often breached by AI-driven threats. By positioning its 'AI Hacker' platform as a tool to test defenses in real-world scenarios, Horizon3 is attempting to shift the market away from traditional annual assessment models.

While the company continues to expand, its future performance will depend on its ability to maintain growth in a competitive global security market. Investors and industry observers will likely monitor how effectively the company manages its international expansion and whether it can sustain its high revenue growth rate as it moves into new geographic regions. Additionally, as the company faces questions regarding the containment of its own AI-testing tools, the firm's ability to demonstrate consistent, safe, and reliable testing outcomes will remain a primary focus for its partners and clients.
