Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) announced Thursday its strategic investment, acquiring a 5% stake in the Dehradun-based firm Maritech Integrated Maritime. This move is part of CSL's flagship USHUS startup program, designed to foster emerging technologies in India's maritime industry.

Driving Digital Logistics Forward

The USHUS program has allocated ₹50 crore to support and invest in maritime startups. CSL is collaborating with IIM Kozhikode LIVE and IIT Madras to manage this initiative. The program supports the government's aim to promote innovation and indigenous technological development.

Maritech's Digital Exchange

Maritech Integrated Maritime has created the Integrated Maritime Exchange (IME), a digital platform connecting various stakeholders in the maritime industry. IME aims to streamline logistics and port services, creating a unified digital marketplace. CSL noted that IME is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency, transparency, and collaboration across the maritime value chain, accelerating the digitalization of India's maritime trade.
