Binance Targets 3 Billion Users With AI-Driven Super App

Binance plans to reach three billion users in five years by evolving into a multi-asset financial platform integrated with AI. The exchange is focusing on RWA tokenization and exploring Indian Rupee stablecoins to manage currency risks for local users.

Binance, currently recognized as the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has unveiled an ambitious growth strategy to acquire three billion users over the next five years. To achieve this, the company is transitioning its business model toward becoming a comprehensive financial super app. This platform aims to house various asset classes, including thousands of global stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), alongside digital assets, under one account.

AI Investment and Platform Evolution

A central pillar of this expansion is the heavy investment in artificial intelligence. SB Seker, Head of APAC for Binance, explained that AI is already being used for essential tasks such as customer support and fraud detection. The company plans to take this further by developing AI agents that can handle autonomous crypto payments. This shift is designed to reduce the need for users to move between different platforms and intermediaries, potentially simplifying the user experience for complex financial decisions.

Stablecoins and India Strategy

Binance is also evaluating the role of real-world asset tokenization, particularly for the Indian market. The company views legislative and political interest in this area as a positive signal for future growth. A key focus for the exchange is the potential introduction of Indian Rupee-backed stablecoins. According to Seker, these digital assets could serve as a vital settlement tool for Indian users and institutions, offering a way to hedge against US dollar volatility and manage foreign exchange risks.

While the company continues to engage with various regulatory bodies through subcommittee hearings, it remains in a delicate position regarding the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Binance has not initiated direct talks with the RBI regarding stablecoins. The company emphasizes the importance of aligning its business model with national objectives to ensure it can retain Indian users on its localized, centralized exchange platform.

Navigating Market Consolidation

The global cryptocurrency sector is currently facing a bear market, which has led to a phase of industry consolidation. Binance is attempting to strengthen its market position during this period by focusing on localized platforms and specialized services. The sustainability of this growth will depend on several factors, including the evolution of international regulatory frameworks, the speed of stablecoin adoption in markets like India, and the successful technical integration of AI-driven autonomous transactions.
