Andhra Pradesh Approves 10 Tech Projects Worth ₹526 Crore

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board has cleared 10 technology projects involving a total investment of ₹526 crore. These initiatives, which include commitments from Muthoot Fincorp and Deloitte, focus on AI, IT, and electronics manufacturing. The state aims to create nearly 9,000 new jobs while strengthening Vizag as a key technology hub.

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has cleared 10 new technology and infrastructure projects with a total commitment of ₹526 crore. These projects mark a significant effort by the state to expand its footprint in high-growth sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and electronics manufacturing. The approvals are aimed at fostering long-term economic development and creating employment, with Visakhapatnam emerging as a primary beneficiary for these technology-driven investments.

Among the notable commitments, Muthoot Fincorp is set to invest ₹100 crore to establish an Integrated Hub for AI and Technology Training. This center is designed to provide skill development for workers in the artificial intelligence field, with the potential to generate 2,400 new jobs. Separately, global consultancy firm Deloitte has received approval to invest ₹43 crore in a new operations center. This facility is expected to support 2,500 seats, highlighting the demand for professional technical talent in the region.

In the electronics manufacturing segment, the state government has provided an extension for policy incentives to AIL Dixon Technologies Pvt Ltd for its unit located in Kadapa. This entity is associated with the larger electronics manufacturing services ecosystem, with Dixon Technologies (India) Limited being a prominent listed player in this sector. For electronics manufacturers, state-level incentive frameworks are a vital factor, as they often play a key role in supporting the expansion of local assembly capacity and managing operational costs.

These investments reflect a broader trend among Indian states to move beyond traditional IT services by attracting private capital into advanced technology and manufacturing domains. The focus on AI, quantum computing, and electronics is seen as a strategic move to align with India’s increasing role in the global electronics supply chain and the growing demand for tech-trained professionals.
