Amagi Turns Profitable Amid Cloud and AI Push
Amagi has achieved a significant financial turnaround in Fiscal Year 2026, reporting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹72 crore, a sharp contrast to the ₹69 crore loss recorded in FY25. The company's robust fourth quarter also saw PAT reach ₹34 crore, a notable improvement from an ₹11 crore loss in the same period last year.
Revenue Surges with Cloud Adoption
The company's revenue grew by 29.5% year-on-year to ₹1,506 crore for FY26. This expansion was primarily driven by acquiring new clients and an increased adoption of cloud-native solutions within the broadcasting and streaming industries. Quarterly revenue also rose 28.5% year-on-year to ₹397 crore. Adjusted EBITDA saw a more than sixfold increase to ₹156 crore, boosting the adjusted EBITDA margin to 10.3% and highlighting improved operational efficiency.
Expanding Operations and Embracing AI
Amagi's operational scale expanded significantly, with processed content growing 51% to 876,000 hours and channel deliveries up 33% to 9,425. Ad impressions surged 62% to 42.4 billion, indicating stronger monetization. The distributor network grew 24% to 407. Looking ahead, Amagi aims for sustained revenue growth, enhanced operating leverage, and stronger cash conversion in FY27. CEO Baskar Subramanian described FY26 as a "defining year," noting the industry's shift to cloud and the growing importance of AI in media. The company is actively exploring AI applications in content creation, distribution, and monetization, exemplified by its NEWSPULSE platform. Customer retention remains strong, with a net revenue retention rate of 125.9% and 35 clients now generating over $1 million annually.
Competitive Edge in Media Solutions
Operating in a competitive cloud media solutions market, Amagi's focus on a SaaS model and its rapid growth in ad impressions provide a competitive advantage. The company's increasing ad impressions suggest it is capturing a larger share of digital advertising spend within its managed channels. Amagi's strategic integration of AI is positioning it to benefit from emerging trends in automated content generation and personalized advertising, potentially differentiating it from slower-adopting competitors. Historically, companies leveraging AI in media workflows have experienced accelerated growth and improved margins, a path Amagi appears set to follow.
