Amagi Media Labs Q2 Profit Jumps 30-Fold to ₹75 Crore

Amagi Media Labs reported a 30-fold surge in net profit to ₹75 crore for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, supported by a 27% rise in revenue. While the cloud-native SaaS provider remains debt-free with significant cash reserves, investors are also considering factors like the company's high valuation and lower promoter holding.

Amagi Media Labs has reported a sharp increase in profitability for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, reflecting the company’s ability to scale its cloud-based software business. The company’s net profit jumped significantly to ₹75 crore, compared to the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter rose by 27% to ₹476 crore, driven by strong demand across its core Streaming Unification and Monetisation segments.

The firm’s operational efficiency was a key highlight during this period. The company reported an adjusted EBITDA of ₹89 crore, which is a 114% increase year-on-year. This improvement shows that the company has become more effective at managing its operating expenses as it grows, allowing a larger portion of revenue to flow directly to the bottom line.

From a balance sheet perspective, the company remains in a strong position. Amagi Media Labs is currently debt-free, which reduces financial pressure during times of economic uncertainty. Furthermore, the company holds a substantial cash and investment reserve of ₹1,774 crore as of September 30, 2026. This strong liquidity provides the firm with the flexibility to fund its ongoing expansion into artificial intelligence and infrastructure development without relying on high-cost borrowing.

To support this growth strategy, the company has added industry experience to its leadership team. Amagi recently appointed Dr. Bhaskar Ghosh, a former executive at Accenture, and Srividhya Srinivasan, the company's co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, to its Board of Directors. These moves are aimed at accelerating the company's shift toward deep-tech integration and global media transformation services.

While the financial growth is notable, investors should keep a balanced view of the company’s current status. The stock currently trades at a high price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple compared to broader market standards, which implies that the market has already factored in expectations for future growth. Additionally, the promoter holding in the company stands at approximately 14.7%. A lower level of promoter ownership is a factor that some investors monitor closely, as it can be relevant to long-term governance and management control.

Looking ahead, the primary focus for shareholders will be how effectively the company uses its cash reserves and new board leadership to sustain this growth in the competitive media technology sector. Investors will likely track the company’s ability to maintain its profit margins while continuing to invest heavily in AI-driven product innovation.
