Smartphone brand Ai+ has announced a ₹100 crore bug bounty program to boost device security. The company is committing ₹20 crore annually over five years to identify vulnerabilities. This strategy arrives as the company pursues an aggressive growth target of ₹7,500 crore in revenue for the current fiscal year.
Ai+, a smartphone brand owned by NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, has launched a five-year bug bounty program called Project Trust+. The company will spend ₹100 crore total, allocating ₹20 crore each year to engage ethical hackers and independent researchers in testing the security of its devices. By allowing external experts to find and fix system vulnerabilities, the company aims to enhance the safety of its software ecosystem and build brand credibility.
The initiative comes as Ai+ experiences a rapid ramp-up in its operations. The company reported ₹965 crore in revenue during its inaugural year which ended in 2026. Momentum has continued into the current year, with the company recording ₹1,650 crore in revenue in just the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. Management has set an ambitious target to cross ₹7,500 crore in total revenue for the current fiscal year, reflecting a goal to quickly increase its market presence.
For a relatively new entrant in the smartphone market, establishing consumer trust is a significant challenge. The company competes against well-entrenched international brands that have spent years refining their security protocols and supply chains. While the bug bounty program is a move toward building transparency, the company faces substantial operational risks. Scaling business to meet a ₹7,500 crore revenue target requires building a local component ecosystem from the ground up, which remains a complex task in the highly competitive Indian handset market.
It is important to note that NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, the parent firm, is a private entity and its shares are not currently listed on the National Stock Exchange or the Bombay Stock Exchange. Consequently, retail investors cannot trade in the company's stock. However, its aggressive financial growth and operational strategy remain relevant indicators of the changing competitive dynamics within the Indian mobile technology sector.
