Reliance Industries Limited, through its subsidiary Reliance Intelligence Limited, has announced a significant partnership with Google. This collaboration will offer young Jio users, specifically those aged 18 to 25 who are on eligible unlimited 5G plans, free access to Google's premium Gemini Pro AI plan for 18 months. The program commences on October 30.
This initiative is part of Jio's broader vision to make Artificial Intelligence accessible to everyone in India. Users will gain enhanced capabilities, including access to Google's advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model, 2 terabytes (TB) of cloud storage, video generation via Veo 3.1, image creation with Nano Banana, and tools like NotebookLM, Gemini Code Assist, and Gemini integration in Gmail and Docs. Activation will be managed through the MyJio app.
Existing Gemini Pro subscribers can seamlessly transition to the new free 'Google AI Pro – Powered by Jio' plan. Beyond consumers, the partnership also involves enterprise offerings, with Reliance Intelligence acting as a strategic partner for Google Cloud to promote access to AI hardware accelerators (TPUs) and drive adoption of Gemini Enterprise, Google's advanced AI platform for businesses.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, highlighted the aim to make India AI-empowered, while Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, expressed excitement about putting cutting-edge AI tools into the hands of Indian consumers and businesses. By integrating 5G connectivity with advanced AI capabilities, this partnership is set to empower millions of young Indians with digital tools, fostering innovation and growth.
