OpenAI Offers ChatGPT Go Free for One Year in India, Boosting AI Access

OpenAI has announced a significant offer for its users in India, making the ChatGPT Go subscription plan free for one year. This offer is applicable to users who signed up during a promotional period that began on November 4, and also extends to existing ChatGPT Go subscribers. This initiative is being launched in conjunction with OpenAI's inaugural DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru.

Nick Turley, vice president and head of ChatGPT, stated that the goal is to enable more individuals across India to easily access and benefit from advanced AI technologies. ChatGPT Go, initially launched in August as an India-exclusive plan priced at INR 399 per month and available via UPI, offers users extended access to OpenAI's flagship GPT-5 model. The plan has seen substantial success, with paid ChatGPT subscribers in India more than doubling within a month of its launch.
