CE Info Systems Ltd, operating under the brand MapmyIndia, announced on Friday that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). This partnership is set to integrate crucial Delhi Metro data directly into the Mappls mobile application.
Under this agreement, Mappls, a digital mapping and geospatial technology platform, will incorporate DMRC's metro information. This will enable the app's extensive user base of over 35 million to access comprehensive and up-to-date details about the Delhi Metro network. Key information such as nearby metro stations, complete routes, fare structures, line change information, train frequencies, and estimated travel times will be available within the Mappls App interface.
The primary objective of this integration is to offer Delhi-NCR commuters a more intelligent, efficient, and stress-free travel experience by consolidating essential metro data in a single, easily accessible platform.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, stated that this collaboration aligns with DMRC's commitment to innovation and enhancing commuter convenience, making travel across the National Capital Region (NCR) more seamless. Rakesh Verma, co-founder and Managing Director of MapmyIndia, highlighted that the integration will significantly improve the multi-modal transport features of the Mappls app.
Beyond metro travel, the enhanced Mappls App will also assist users in locating nearby government services, receiving optimized routes, and reporting real-time civic and traffic issues like congestion or accidents. This partnership follows a recent MoU between Indian Railways and Mappls MapMyIndia.
Impact: This collaboration is expected to significantly boost the utility and user engagement for the Mappls App, potentially increasing its user base and data collection capabilities for CE Info Systems Ltd. By offering integrated public transport information, the app becomes a more indispensable tool for daily commuters in a major metropolitan area, which could positively influence investor perception of the company's growth prospects. Rating: 6/10
