Giga, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup founded by IIT Kharagpur graduates Varun Vummadi and Esha Manideep, has successfully raised $61 million in a Series A funding round.
The funding was led by Redpoint Ventures, with significant contributions from Y Combinator and Nexus Venture Partners.
This capital infusion is earmarked for expanding Giga's technical team and accelerating its go-to-market efforts. It will also support scaling deployments with major global enterprises, solidifying Giga's position in AI-driven enterprise support automation.
Giga specializes in building emotionally aware AI agents that can provide real-time customer support at scale. These agents utilize contextual memory to understand customer interactions and can be rapidly deployed across complex enterprise systems. The AI system ingests a company's entire support knowledge base to generate high-accuracy agents that handle customer queries without human intervention.
Satish Dharmaraj of Redpoint Ventures highlighted the investment as one of their largest early-stage deals, citing belief in the product's potential and the team's execution speed. Abhishek Sharma of Nexus Venture Partners noted Giga's role in helping enterprises transition to scalable, software-driven AI for improved efficiency and quality.
Giga's technology is aimed at high-compliance industries like e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, and telecommunications. Its AI voice systems already handle millions of customer calls monthly, demonstrating improvements in resolution speed and service efficiency, as evidenced by a case study with DoorDash.
Impact This funding allows Giga to enhance its AI capabilities and expand its reach, potentially setting new industry standards for AI in customer support and driving significant efficiency gains for enterprises globally.
