Given the necessity for human accountability in governance, proponents argue AI should remain a tool that assists human directors, rather than becoming a voting member. Governance requires someone to answer for failures, a capacity AI lacks. The true measure of good governance is not speed or efficiency, but deliberation, disagreement, and careful consideration of stakeholder impacts, elements that AI cannot replicate.
