Wint Wealth Secures ₹250 Cr to Expand Bond Offerings and NBFC Arm
Overview

Wint Wealth has secured ₹250 Cr in Series B funding, led by Vertex Ventures. The capital injection will fuel expansion of its corporate bond platform, bolster its NBFC arm, and enhance investor education initiatives, tapping into India's growing demand for diversified investment products.

Funding Boost for Bond Platform

Wint Wealth, an online platform for bond portfolios, has closed a significant INR 250 crore (approximately $27.7 million) Series B funding round. Vertex Ventures SEA and India spearheaded the investment, with participation from existing backers 3one4 Capital, Eight Roads Ventures, Arkam Ventures, and Zerodha's Rainmatter.

The capital infusion is earmarked for several strategic expansions. Wint Wealth plans to broaden its suite of corporate bond offerings, thereby catering to a wider investor base. A key focus will also be on capitalizing its Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) arm, Wint Capital, which currently manages INR 200 crore in assets.

Strategic Capital Deployment

Beyond product and NBFC expansion, Wint Wealth intends to strengthen its investor education initiatives. This move aims to demystify bond investing for retail participants. The company also plans to scale its technology and operations, enabling deeper market reach across India. Founded in 2020, Wint Wealth has already facilitated investments totalling over INR 8,000 crore for more than 3 lakh investors. Wint Capital, the company's NBFC subsidiary, provides business-to-business loans and has disbursed over INR 370 crore to date. This segment was bolstered by Wint Wealth's acquisition of a majority stake in Ambium Finserve in 2023.

Market Momentum in Wealthtech

The funding round underscores the robust growth and investor interest in India's burgeoning investment technology sector. As retail investors increasingly seek diversified portfolios, platforms simplifying access to fixed-income instruments like corporate bonds are gaining traction. This trend is mirrored by other wealthtech startups, such as Dhan's parent company Raise Financial Services, which achieved unicorn status recently, and Wealthy's INR 130 crore Series B raise.
