US-based Tillman Global Holdings has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh government through the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to establish a substantial 300 MW hyperscale data center campus in Visakhapatnam. The project involves an investment of approximately Rs 15,000 crore and is expected to span over 40 acres.
The memorandum of understanding outlines Tillman Global Holdings' commitment to bringing investment, technology, planning, and critical equipment. In return, the Andhra Pradesh government will facilitate land allotments, incentives, and other benefits according to existing policies and regulations.
The campus is projected to generate between 200 and 300 direct jobs and an estimated 800 to 1,000 indirect jobs by 2028, supporting growth in allied services like logistics, cloud, and networks.
This initiative positions Andhra Pradesh, especially Visakhapatnam, as a significant digital infrastructure hub in India and the Indo-Pacific region, following other major digital projects.
Tillman Global Holdings co-president Sachit Ahuja highlighted Andhra Pradesh's advantages such as coastal connectivity and progressive governance. Andhra Pradesh minister for IT, Nara Lokesh, emphasized the project's role in strengthening the state's digital backbone and attracting further investments.
