Infosys Deploys Devin AI Software Engineer
Infosys has officially partnered with U.S.-based AI firm Cognition to integrate Devin, the acclaimed AI software engineer, across its global client engagements and internal engineering teams. This move represents one of the largest enterprise-scale deployments of agentic AI software engineering tools to date, targeting complex and highly regulated industries.
Integration with Infosys Topaz Fabric
The collaboration involves embedding Devin into Infosys's own engineering ecosystem via Infosys Topaz Fabric, the company's suite for agentic AI services. This integrated offering is designed to shorten technology modernization cycles, improve developer output, and accelerate the pace at which new products reach the market.
Proven Internal Improvements
Infosys has already been utilizing Devin internally for six months. During this period, the company observed substantial gains in engineering quality and efficiency. Complex modernization projects, including legacy COBOL migrations and JCP servlet transformations, have reportedly transitioned from lengthy, resource-intensive endeavors to more streamlined processes.
Phased Deployment Strategy
The rollout has commenced within Infosys's Financial Services division, encompassing banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, and wealth management. Future plans include expanding Devin's deployment to other key verticals such as retail, energy, and healthcare. Infosys will employ Devin through three primary models: enhancing internal productivity, augmenting human engineers in client engagements through hybrid delivery pods, and offering Devin as a managed service directly within customer environments.
Joint Framework Development
Infosys and Cognition are jointly developing shared engineering frameworks, industry-specific solutions, and comprehensive enablement programs tailored for large, regulated enterprises. These initiatives include AI-native modernization blueprints and standardized automation playbooks aimed at reducing complexity and bolstering operational resilience. Co-innovation labs and extensive training programs are also being established to facilitate enterprise-wide adoption.
Scott Wu, founder and CEO of Cognition, stated that the partnership will introduce autonomous AI engineering capabilities to some of the world's most intricate enterprises. He highlighted Infosys as the first major digital services firm to implement agentic tools at this scale, combining real-time developer augmentation with fully autonomous execution. Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys, added that this collaboration signifies a critical step towards faster AI value realization for global businesses, leveraging Cognition's expertise with Infosys Topaz Fabric and domain knowledge to offer a unique modernization proposition.
