India plans to become a leading global semiconductor hub, rivaling the US and China by 2031-2032. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the ambitious target, supported by a $10 billion incentive program for manufacturing, assembly, and design. The country has already attracted investments, with Micron Technology setting up a plant and Tata Group involved in domestic silicon fabrication, aiming for commercial production by early next year.
