Anthropic Eyes Massive $10 Billion Funding Round
Artificial intelligence leader Anthropic is in advanced talks to secure $10 billion in new funding, which would catapult its valuation to $350 billion before the investment. This significant capital infusion reflects the escalating investor appetite for advanced AI capabilities.
Valuation Surge Continues
The proposed valuation represents a dramatic leap from the company's previous funding round. In September, Anthropic raised $13 billion at a $183 billion valuation. Key Investors Emerge
Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, GIC, and investment firm Coatue Management are reportedly set to lead this substantial financing. Major backers Microsoft Corp. and Nvidia Corp., who previously committed up to $15 billion combined, are also expected to participate. The final fundraising amount may still be subject to change.
AI Competition Heats Up
Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, Anthropic emphasizes safety and reliability in its AI development with its Claude chatbot. The company is aggressively investing in chip infrastructure and data centers to expand its AI systems, mirroring the rapid growth strategies of rivals like OpenAI, which was valued at $500 billion in a recent secondary sale.
