Hitachi Energy India Jumps 7% After Strong Q1 Earnings

Hitachi Energy India shares rose nearly 7% on Monday after the company reported a 123.5% jump in profit for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. The growth is supported by a record order backlog of ₹32,222 crore, driven by demand in renewable energy and data centers.

Hitachi Energy India shares climbed approximately 7% during Monday’s trading session, positioning the stock among the top performers on the Nifty Midcap 150 index. This market activity follows the company’s recent release of its financial results for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, which were announced on August 7, 2026.

The company’s latest financial report highlights a significant expansion in profitability. For the quarter ending June 2026, Hitachi Energy India reported a profit after tax of ₹294.15 crore, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 123.5%. Revenue for the same period increased by 68.6% to ₹2,493.69 crore. The company also maintained an operational EBITDA margin of 16%, indicating strong control over its core operating costs despite the revenue scale-up.

A key factor behind the stock's performance is the company's robust order pipeline. Hitachi Energy India currently holds a record order backlog valued at ₹32,222.1 crore. This substantial volume is primarily driven by accelerating demand in critical infrastructure segments, including renewable energy projects and the expanding data center industry in India. This backlog provides better visibility into the company's future revenue streams, though the actual benefit depends on the speed of project execution and delivery timelines.

In addition to the financial growth, the company has declared a final dividend of ₹8 per share for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Shareholders should note that the record date for this dividend payout is set for August 21, 2026.

While the financial growth metrics are strong, investors may monitor the company's valuation levels. Despite the positive momentum and strong business pipeline, some analysts have previously flagged concerns regarding the stock's high valuation multiples. In the current market, sustained performance will depend on the company's ability to maintain these margins and successfully execute its large order backlog without facing cost overruns or delays. Investors may keep an eye on future management commentary regarding order execution speed and margin stability in the coming quarters.
