Abakkus Increases Jubilant Pharmova Stake; Qualcomm Exits Shadowfax

Abakkus Asset Managers has acquired 11 lakh shares of Jubilant Pharmova for Rs 100.65 crore, while Qualcomm has completed its exit from logistics firm Shadowfax. Investors are tracking these moves alongside Jubilant Pharmova’s new plans to raise up to Rs 800 crore via debt instruments.

In a day of notable institutional activity, Abakkus Asset Managers has increased its stake in pharmaceutical firm Jubilant Pharmova, while global investor Qualcomm has finalized its exit from logistics company Shadowfax Technologies. These transactions highlight shifting ownership patterns as investors adjust their positions across different market segments.

Abakkus Asset Managers, led by Sunil Singhania, purchased 11 lakh shares of Jubilant Pharmova at Rs 915 per share, an investment totaling Rs 100.65 crore. The shares were sourced from Quant Mutual Fund, which divested a total of 20.81 lakh shares on the exchange. Following the transaction, Jubilant Pharmova shares recorded a 2.04 percent gain to close at Rs 950.90 on the National Stock Exchange.

Beyond the ownership change, the company has informed the exchange of its board's approval for a private placement of Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) worth up to Rs 800 crore. Furthermore, the company is seeking shareholder approval to establish a borrowing limit of Rs 2,500 crore. Investors may monitor how these funds are deployed, especially as the pharmaceutical sector continues to face pricing pressure in the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) business. Rising raw material costs, often linked to global supply chain disruptions, remain a potential headwind that could influence profit margins in the coming quarters.

Meanwhile, the logistics sector saw a change in the shareholder base as Qualcomm Asia Pacific completed its full exit from Shadowfax Technologies. The entity sold its remaining 57.13 lakh shares, representing a 0.98 percent stake, at Rs 275.30 per share, totaling Rs 157.28 crore. This move follows a prior divestment on August 21, 2026, when Qualcomm sold a 1.28 percent stake for Rs 183.8 crore. Shares of Shadowfax Technologies traded slightly lower on the BSE, closing at Rs 294.75 following the announcement.

As a smaller-cap entity, Shadowfax has historically experienced higher market volatility. When analyzing such companies, investors often watch valuation metrics relative to book value, as fluctuations can be more pronounced compared to large-cap peers. The most important updates for shareholders will be the specific deployment timeline for Jubilant Pharmova’s new debt issuance and how Shadowfax continues its operations following the complete exit of a significant long-term investor.
