This new initiative is designed to provide seed to Series A capital to early-stage startups that prioritize long-term social impact over traditional high-burn scaling models. The fund plans to invest between ₹2 crore and ₹16 crore per startup, targeting businesses that focus on livelihood improvement, climate resilience, agricultural value chains, and AI-driven productivity solutions for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Backing from Industry Veterans
The fund has attracted support from several high-profile industry figures. Key backers include Binny Bansal, Deep Kalra, Amit Gupta, Hari Menon, Vidit Aatrey, and the Raj & Indra Nooyi Family Office. This involvement from established entrepreneurs suggests a strategic effort to bridge the gap between philanthropic support and traditional venture capital. The/Nudge Foundation itself has a history of supporting social enterprises, having deployed approximately ₹180 crore in grants to 190 organizations over the last eight years.
