Venture capital firm Peak XV Partners is set to achieve remarkable financial success from its investments in two prominent fintech companies, Groww and Pine Labs, which recently went public. The firm invested a combined total of Rs 354 crore across these two companies.
Peak XV Partners initially invested Rs 233 crore in Groww starting in 2019. As of November 14, its stake in Groww is valued at Rs 15,720 crore. This figure is after Peak XV has already divested shares worth Rs 1,583 crore, generating substantial profits. The total projected return from Groww alone is estimated to reach Rs 17,303 crore, representing an approximately 70-fold return on investment within about six years.
Similarly, Peak XV invested Rs 121 crore in Pine Labs, a fintech major, over approximately 16 years starting in 2009. The current holding in Pine Labs is valued at Rs 4,851 crore. This valuation is in addition to the Rs 508.35 crore Peak XV has already realised by selling shares during the company's Offer-for-Sale component in its IPO. The total expected proceeds from Pine Labs stand at Rs 5,359 crore, indicating a return of around 45 times the initial investment over 16 years.
Collectively, Peak XV Partners anticipates gains exceeding $2.6 billion from these two ventures alone, highlighting extraordinary success in the Indian fintech landscape.
