Overview

A US Bankruptcy Court has ordered Byju's founder Byju Raveendran to pay over $1.07 billion for repeatedly violating court orders and evading directives concerning $533 million in missing 'Alpha Funds'. The massive liability stems from Raveendran's willful non-compliance with court orders to disclose information about the funds and subsequent asset transfers. Co-defendants Divya Gokulnath and Anita Kishore were not sanctioned.
