Overview

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has prohibited mutual fund schemes from investing in pre-IPO share placements, aiming to boost market liquidity and ensure clearer company valuations before listing. However, mutual funds can still participate in anchor rounds of public issues. SEBI also plans to replace lengthy abridged prospectuses with 'offer document summaries' and notes 'irrational exuberance' in retail derivatives trading.
