HDFC Securities confirms that 98% of its trading volume remains outside the scope of upcoming UPI Merchant Discount Rate changes. In other market action, Platinum Jasmine sold a 2% stake in Lenskart for ₹2,391 crore. Meanwhile, Moneyview set its IPO price band at ₹32-34 per share, and Sonaselection India concluded its public offering with a 2x subscription rate.
HDFC Securities has clarified that its digital brokerage platforms remain largely unaffected by the upcoming changes to the UPI Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) scheduled for October 15. The firm analyzed trading activity from its InvestRight and HDFC SKY platforms between January and August 2026. The data shows that 98% of its 52.3 million transactions utilized 3-in-1 linked HDFC Bank mandates or net banking, rather than UPI. With UPI accounting for only 9.6 lakh transactions, the company expects minimal financial exposure to the revised cost structure.
Market activity was busy with significant private equity movement on the National Stock Exchange. A block deal occurred for eyewear retailer Lenskart, where Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust divested a 2% stake valued at approximately ₹2,391 crore. Following this sell-off, Lenskart's stock price declined by 3.3%. This transaction represents the third major shift in the retailer's ownership structure in recent weeks, highlighting active reshuffling within its cap table.
The primary market saw several updates as companies moved toward public listings. Moneyview officially announced its IPO price band at ₹32-34 per share, targeting a total raise of ₹1,092 crore. The subscription period is set to open on September 24. Moneyview plans to utilize the funds to support loan disbursal guarantees and to inject capital into its subsidiary, WhizDM Finance.
In other market debuts, Manika Plastech had a muted start, listing flat at its issue price of ₹43. Meanwhile, the public offering for Sonaselection India has concluded. The ₹141.6 crore IPO secured a total subscription rate of 2 times, with retail investor interest notably higher at 2.5 times the quota reserved for them. Investors will continue to monitor the listing performance of these upcoming issues and the broader impact of institutional stake sales on retail stock sentiment.
