Bulk Deals Roundup: SoftBank Dumps Ola Electric REs, Param Capital Buys

Institutional investors actively adjusted their portfolios on October 26, 2026. SoftBank continued its aggressive exit from Ola Electric rights entitlements, while Param Capital emerged as a buyer. Simultaneously, Tiger Strategies and Nexus Global sold stakes in Shankesh Jewellers and Gujarat Kidney, respectively, whereas Riambel Capital increased its exposure to SG Mart.

Institutional activity spiked on October 26, 2026, as various funds reshuffled their holdings through open-market bulk deals. The trading sessions highlighted contrasting strategies, ranging from aggressive exits in rights entitlements to fresh buying in the infrastructure and trading sector, keeping market participants focused on institutional flow.

Ola Electric Rights Entitlements Activity

The most significant movement occurred in the rights issue of Ola Electric. SoftBank’s entity, SVF II Ostrich (DE), continued to aggressively liquidate its rights entitlements (REs) to avoid participating in the rights offering. On Monday, the entity sold 2.37 crore entitlements at Rs 1.32 each, representing 54.7 percent of its estimated allocation for that day. Over the last three trading sessions, the entity has offloaded 82.7 percent of its total entitlement. The selling pressure was shared by other institutional players, including the OEM Employees Welfare Trust and Vanguard ESG International Stock ETF. However, the supply was met by strong demand from Param Capital, the firm led by veteran investor Mukul Mahavir Agrawal, which scooped up 2.17 crore entitlements. This divergence in strategy between the foreign institutional investor and the domestic firm underscores different perspectives on the ongoing rights issue.

Shifts in Jewellery and Healthcare Stocks

In the jewellery wholesale segment, Tiger Strategies Fund-I reduced its stake in Mumbai-based Shankesh Jewellers by 0.55 percentage points. The fund sold 8.21 lakh shares at Rs 91.76 apiece, a move that the market viewed with caution. The stock dropped 4.86 percent to Rs 90.61, marking its third consecutive day of decline. This reaction suggests that investors are closely monitoring the exit of institutional players who entered the stock through the anchor book in August 2026.

Separately, in the healthcare sector, Nexus Global Opportunities Fund exited its position in Gujarat Kidney and Super Speciality. The fund offloaded its entire 0.55 percent stake—comprising 4.38 lakh shares—at Rs 178 per share, totaling Rs 7.8 crore. Interestingly, despite the institutional exit, the stock demonstrated resilience, gaining 0.63 percent on Monday and breaking a three-day losing streak.

Institutional Buying in SG Mart

While some funds chose to exit, others increased their footprints. Mauritius-based Riambel Capital PCC-RCC1 acquired a 0.62 percent stake in SG Mart by purchasing 7.89 lakh shares at Rs 799.46 per share. The transaction, valued at approximately Rs 63.13 crore, provided a boost to the stock, which gained 0.36 percent and extended a three-day rally on increased trading volumes.

Investors tracking these developments should observe whether the selling pressure in names like Shankesh Jewellers persists or if retail and other institutional buyers step in to provide support. For Ola Electric, the key monitorable remains the conclusion of the rights issue process and how the change in entitlement ownership impacts the shareholder base.
