Bengaluru-based KIS Group, a specialist in Biogas and Biofuels technology, has announced that Mitsubishi Corporation, a major Japanese integrated business enterprise, has acquired a minority equity stake in its Indonesian operations. This investment signifies Mitsubishi Corporation's debut entry into the global biogas market.
KIS Group, established in 2006, operates in 11 countries and offers end-to-end solutions for industries like palm oil, sugar, dairy, and distilleries. The company has set an ambitious goal to invest USD 1 billion by 2030 across renewable gas and biofuel solutions in Southeast Asia and India.
This strategic partnership is a significant step for KIS Group, reinforcing a mutual commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and global market expansion. The collaboration will allow KIS Group to leverage Mitsubishi Corporation's extensive network across over 90 countries to accelerate its international growth. Together, they will co-develop and commercialise advanced biogas, BioCNG, and BioLNG solutions for global markets.
With Mitsubishi Corporation's support, KIS Group aims to expand its presence into North and South American and European markets within the next five years. This expansion is expected to substantially increase renewable gas output and contribute significantly to global decarbonisation goals.
