Surat-based Goldi Solar has successfully raised ₹1,422 crore in growth capital, primarily aimed at bolstering its domestic solar module manufacturing capacity. The funding round saw significant participation from Havells India, which reportedly invested ₹600 crore, and Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of the brokerage firm Zerodha, contributing approximately ₹140 crore. The investment consortium also includes various high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), institutional investors, and prominent family businesses.
The capital infusion will be strategically deployed to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen backward integration into solar cell production, accelerate innovation in high-efficiency solar technologies, and enhance go-to-market strategies. Goldi Solar has experienced rapid growth, increasing its solar PV module manufacturing capacity from 3 GW to 14.7 GW in the past year, and is currently developing a 1.2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
