Suzlon Energy announced Friday it has secured a repeat order for 195 MW from Sunsure Energy. This significant deal pushes the total sales for Suzlon's 3 MW platform to nearly 9 GW, highlighting the strong market acceptance of its 3X turbine technology.
Karnataka Expansion Continues
This new order builds on the existing relationship between Suzlon and Sunsure Energy, bringing their combined projects across Maharashtra and Karnataka to nearly 300 MW. The contract alone expands Suzlon's order book in Karnataka to over 2 GW, a key milestone in one of India's major wind energy markets. Suzlon already has an installed base of 1,500 MW in Karnataka, making up a substantial 24% of its total installed capacity in South India.
Project Details and Support
Suzlon will supply and install 65 of its S144 wind turbine generators, each with a 3.0 MW capacity, for the project in Karnataka's Bijapur district. The company will manage the entire project lifecycle, including turbine supply, erection, and commissioning, followed by comprehensive operations and maintenance services. Suzlon is also managing other commercial and industrial projects in Karnataka totaling 664 MW.
