Axis Energy Wins 400 MW Solar Contract From Brookfield’s Lumara

Axis Energy has secured an EPC contract to build a 400 MW solar plant in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, for Brookfield’s new platform, Lumara. The project, which includes substation and transmission work, is slated for 2027 commissioning. Investors should note that Axis Energy Ventures India Private Limited is a private, unlisted company and does not trade on Indian stock exchanges.

Axis Energy has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to develop a 400 MW utility-scale solar project in Nandipadu village, Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. This project has been awarded by Lumara, a renewable energy platform recently launched by the global asset manager Brookfield to expand its clean energy footprint in India.

The scope of this contract extends beyond just installing solar modules. Axis Energy is responsible for the full lifecycle of the site development, including the design and construction of a 400 kV pooling substation. Additionally, the company must build the 400 kV transmission lines required to connect the solar facility to the Kurnool III Central Transmission Utility substation. This grid connectivity is a critical part of the project, as it ensures the electricity generated can be effectively transmitted to the national grid.

It is important for market participants to clarify that Axis Energy Ventures India Private Limited is a private company and is not listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) or the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Consequently, there is no public stock for investors to trade, and the company’s financial performance is not reflected in public market movements.

For investors following the renewable energy sector, this deal highlights the continued capital allocation by global institutional investors into Indian green infrastructure. However, projects of this scale and complexity carry inherent execution risks. Large renewable energy ventures in India often face potential delays linked to land acquisition, regulatory clearances, and the challenging process of securing grid connectivity. The construction of high-voltage transmission infrastructure adds further complexity, where any technical or administrative delay can impact the overall commissioning schedule.

The project is currently targeted for completion in 2027.
